Hi! Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Stop Motion. On this site I will give an insight on the process of making a stop motion movie and show some of my own work. You still don't know what stop motion is? Well, in short, it is a film making technique in which you take a picture, move the scene or character you are filming a little bit, take another picture, move it some more, and so on. (Therefore the name "Stop-Motion") When the pictures are shown in sequence it seems like one fluent movement. You can use about anything for stop-motion movies: clay puppets, plastic and wire puppets, everyday objects like pencils - even yourself. Cartoons are actually stop-motion movies too, with the difference, that you don't move the characters, but draw them anew in a different position. Famous examples for stop-motion movies are "Wallace and Gromit", "Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Chicken Run". You might even know some movies which contain short stop-motion scenes like "Robocop" or "Terminator".
